DART+ Fleet
Tionscadal Flít DART+
Tá rothstoc breise ag teastáil chun tacú leis an bhforbairt ar sheirbhísí iarnróid atá beartaithe faoin bPlean Forbartha Náisiúnta 2021 go dtí 2030 agus chun freastal ar na méaduithe san acmhainn bhonneagair atá á gcur ar fáil tríd an gClár DART+. Tá soláthar ag Iarnród Éireann, le tacaíocht ón Údarás Náisiúnta Iompair (NTA) agus i gcomhpháirtíocht leis an soláthróir cairr iarnróid Alstom, suas le 750 feithicil arna gcumhachtú go leictreach/ceallra-leictreach a choimisiúnú thar amscála 10 mbliana. Is ionann an t-ordú sin agus an flít iompair phoiblí is mó agus is inbhuanaithe a cheannófar riamh i stair na hÉireann.
Táimid ag déanamh infheistíochta i dtraenacha arna gcumhachtú go leictreach/ceallra-leictreach a chuirfidh ar ár gcumas leas iomlán a bhaint as an mbonneagar atá ann fad a dtugtar leictriúchán chun cinn trí na ceithre Tionscadal DART+;
- DART+ an Iarthair – Maigh Nuad/M3 Bealach na Páirce go dtí Lár na Cathrach
- DART+ an Iardheiscirt – Collchoill & Cill Droichid go dtí Lár na Cathrach
- DART+ an Chósta Thuaidh - Droichead Átha go dtí Lár na Cathrach
- DART+ an Chósta Dheas - Na Clocha Liatha go dtí Lár na Cathrach
I ndeireadh na dála, d’fhéadfadh todhchaí saor ó astaíochtaí a bheith i ndán do fhlít iomlán iarnróid Mhórcheantar Bhaile Átha Cliath (GDA) agus do suas le 80% de na turais iarnróid throma sa tír mar thoradh ar an ordú iomlán.
Passenger Accessibility
One of the primary objectives of the design of the DART+ Fleet is to provide improved accessibility for train users. Low level flooring and entrance doors reduce the stepping height for passengers and improve access for persons with reduced mobility. The new carriages will prioritise independent access, with each of the low-height doorway thresholds being equipped with an automatic retractable step and offering the potential for unassisted level access from suitable platforms, aligned with platform enhancements.
The new Fleet will also provide:
- Larger dedicated wheelchair spaces with easy access from adjacent doors
- Inductive hearing loops and new passenger information displays, to enhance customer information, including for sensory impaired customers
- Uncluttered family areas to fit pushchairs and located close to doors
- A mixture of seating and standing layouts to accommodate diverse passenger needs
- Bike stowage areas
- Charging points for “last mile” options such as e-bicycles and e-scooters
- Wide gangways between carriages to allow ease of movement, create a more open connected train and a greater feeling of security
- USB charging points and Wi-Fi throughout
- 4 CCTV cameras per car to support passenger safety and security
